Facebook Lists Ten of Most Used Emoji on World Emoji Day



Facebook is celebrating World Emoji Day by revealing which are used most in Facebook around the world.
Today is the holiday known as World Emoji Day, which means the worldwide tech luminaries and companies are busy to celebrate this holiday by diminutive, textable icons. In the new media times, you may not be stranger to emoji face, no matter in mobile phone or computer, in message or Twitter, there lots of emoji that you could choose to send to describe your feeling. Over at Facebook, co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has just shared the top 10 most used icons on the platform.
Guess the result? The most commonly used is the LOL emoji with tears of laughter, beating the heart-eyed and kissing faces to the top spot.

But no data showed in this picture, so it is impossible to account for the detailed usage of these expressions, or the measuring standard of the list. Though Facebook haven’t listed the backstage statistics, this List is powerful enough to convince people.

According to the data, their use varies widely country to country.The UK sticks with the LOL face but the US and Indonesia favour the ‘rolling on the floor version’; The French favour a wink while Germany and Thailand opt for the simple smiley face; While Mexico and Brazil like employ the heart eyes.

However, the emoji map looks quite different on Messenger.


For private and group messages, users in the UK, Canada and Thailand prefer the heart. The US and India prefer to send kissing face emoji.
Coincidentally, Apple announced today that it’ll be adding new emoji to its iOS, macOS, and watchOS platforms later this year. Seems Apple has celebrated World Emoji Day by adding new emoji to its products, even its CEO Tim Cook has posted the news in Twitter.

Apple hasn’t said when the new emoji will be released, but it seems likely that they’ll be packaged into the iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra updates scheduled for this fall.
